Japan Tourism Agency revealed that spending in Japan by international visitors totaled 104.7 billion JPY for the first quarter of FY2022 (April to June 2022), increasing from 35.2 billion JPY in the pervious quarter (January to March 2022) because the border restrictions were eased.

Spending a visitor was estimated at 257,206 JPY, higher than usual because most of visitors stayed in Japan longer for a purpose of business, VFR or international study.
