Digital payment solution provider Ant International announced that cross-boarder EC payment service ‘Alipay+’  increased payment volume in Japan for the first nine months of 2025 by 30% year on year, as users, mainly Chinese travelers, have increased payments with their own E-wallets in a variety of shopping scenes.

Ant International analyzed that the results reflect expansion of mobile payment in daily life, an increase in payments in other areas than major cities and spending in a variety of shopping experiences, 

Payment volume in transportations was up 33%, for instance. Ant International also revealed that payments with ‘Alipay+’ rapidly grew in medical services, cosmetics, vending machines and entertainments.
