JAL will launch commercial ‘Flying Car’ service for the Osaka, Kansai EXPO in 2025

JAL plans to launch commercial ‘Flying Car’ service for Osaka, Kansai EXPO in 2025, expecting to operate sightseeing flights around the EXPO venue or air taxi services between Kansai International Airport and the EXPO venue.

The JAL’s program has been adopted for the flying car demonstration program by Osaka government, and JAL will begin researching infrastructures for a Flying Car service in November this year, using a helicopter.

In addition, JAL will provide local governments nationwide with virtual flight experiences of the flying car operation in cooperation with Volocopter, a eVTOL developer, in February next year. The feedback from the experiences will be used for the practical flying care service in Osaka.
