Japan ranks at the bottom in acquisition of paid holidays among 28 countries in 2016

Expedia Japan announced that the ratio of acquisition of paid holidays by Japanese was 50% in 2016, 10% smaller than a year ago, which was a t the bottom among 28 countries for the first time in the past three years. Paid holidays were 20 on average.

One of the features is that the ratio of Japanese who think holidays were insufficient was the lowest. In Spain, for example, about 70% of people felt that holidays were insufficient despite 30 paid holidays a year and the acquisition rate of 100%. In Japan, only 34% of people felt that holidays were insufficient, and the ratio of people who did not know how many paid holidays the had was 47%, which was overwhelmingly top.

The Expedia Japan survey also shows that Japanese preferred to acquiring short holidays at several times and traveling alone, which were also top in the world. The ratio of people who check e-mails through a day in having a holiday was 22%, which was the second following Korea (23%).

The survey was conducted in 28 countries (Japan, USA, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Holland, Spain, Norway, Sweden, UK, Brazil, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, UAE, New Zealand, Finland, Belgium and Switzerland) in the period from September 12 to 29 2016. Samples were 9,424 in total.
