Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese international travelers in 2025 was up 13.3% year on year to 14,731,500 in total, which were still down 26.6% over 2019.

In December 2025, the number was up 9.6% year on year to 1,300,700, which were down 24.0% over 2019.
