Japanese overseas travelers up 7% to 1.52 million in June 2019, seeing 20 million in total a year

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese overseas travelers in June 2019 was up 7.0% year on year to 1,521,000. The total for the first six months of 2019 reached record-high 9,542,400 8.6% more travelers than a year ago, seeing the goal of 20 million in total a year. Supposing that the result in the second half of 2018 is multiplied by the growth rate in the period, the result of the second half of 2019 is expected to reach 10,923,213. 

One of the concerns is how much rise of the consumption tax in October this year may affect the leisure travel market.
