KNT-CT launches AI-based multi-languages chat service for international travelers to Japan

KNT-CT Holdings, one of the major travel companies in Japan, will start offering AI-based multi-languages chat service to tourism business providers, such as local governments, hotels, ryokans or transportation systems, in January 2017, collaborating with AI technology company umami. The new service will be loaded in a newly developed app for international visitors to Japan.

The new service is to provide customers with multi-languages concierge services only by adding the chat box in their websites, which will guide their own facilities, sightseeing spots nearby, restaurants or activities for international visitors. It is also expected to reduce labor cost on inquiries.

Japanese, English, Chinese (simple and traditional) and Korean are available in the beginning for 24 hours. Before start of the service in February 2017, KNT-CT will conduct demonstrations with a capsule hotel, a hostel and a limousine transportation company to accumulate dialogue data and use cases.
