Okinawa is the best preferred destination among Japanese in 2019, ranked top in 4 categories

The prefectural attractiveness quotient ranking, reported by Recruit Lifestyle, finds that Okinawa is No.1 prefecture in four categories of attractive local souvenir, local hospitality, enjoyable spots or experiences for adult people and acquisition of tourist information. For local hospitality, Okinawa is ranked 1st for 14 years in a row. 

Chiba is No.1 in enjoyable spots or experiences for young people and enjoyable spots or experiences for children. For attractive accommodation, Oita is No.1 for four years in row, and Wakayama, Hyogo and Mie become one of the top 10 prefectures for the first time. 

The followings are top 3 prefectures by surveyed category:

Attractive local foods  1 Ishikawa, 2 Kochi, 3 Hokkaido

Attractive local souvenir  1 Okinawa, 2 Hokkaido, 3 Kumamoto

Attractive accommodation  1 Oita, 2 Okinawa, 3 Kumamoto

Local hospitality  1 Okinawa, 2 Kumamoto, 3 Aomori and Kagoshima

Enjoyable spots or experiences for children  1 Chiba, 2 Okinawa, 3 Wakayama

Enjoyable spots or experiences for young people  1 Chiba, 2 Okinawa, 3 Osaka

Enjoyable spots or experiences for adult people  1 Okinawa, 2 Chiba, 3 Nara

Acquisition of tourist information  1 Okinawa, 2 Chiba, 3 Kyoto

The survey was conducted online to 44,515 persons in the period between April 5 to 19 2019, and valid answers were 15,559.
