The most desirable destination in Japan to go in this summer for Taiwanese female travelers is Hokkaido

Geelee Media Group, operating ‘Let’s Go Japan,’ the travel in Japan information site for Taiwan and Hong Kong, conducted an awareness survey on travel in Japan to 20’s to 30’s Taiwanese female users who have been to Japan twice or more.

The survey finds that the most desirable destination in Japan to go in this summer was Hokkaido (44.5%), followed by Tokyo (35.2%) and Okinawa (29.8%). Except prefectures along so-called Golden Route, Kumamoto, Aomori, Nara, Fukuoka and Shizuoka become one of the top ten.

Particular desirable tourist spots to go are as follows:

Hokkaido: Toya-ko, Sapporo Dome, Akan-ko, Noboribetsu

Tokyo: Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, Snoopy Museum Tokyo

Okinawa: Kourijima, Manzamo, Senagajima

Kumamoto: Kumamoto Square, Kumamoto Castle

Aomori: Oirase, Aomori Museum, Seikan Tunnel, Nabuta

Fukuoka: Anpanman Children Museum

Shizuoka: Chibimaruko-chan Land

Interestingly, lower frequent travelers (2 to 5 times to visit Japan) have strong desires to go to Tokyo (42%), while higher frequent travelers (six or more times to visit Japan) have strong desires to go to Tohoku or Shikoku, such as 9.8 higher points for Aomori, 4.7 higher points for Miyagi and Akita, 4.4 higher points for Kagawa or 4.2 higher points for Tokushima than the rates among lower frequent travelers.

The most desirable thing to do in this summer was going to local summer festival (68%), followed by going to fireworks (60.4%), eating summer foods (53.7%) and seeing seasonal flowers (52.1%). The top among higher frequent travelers was going to onsen (67.5%).

The most desirable food to eat was local foods (65.8%), followed by popular pancake or sweets among Japanese.

The survey on troubles in traveling finds that 49.2% of all answered how to book a restaurant, and many answers were also found in fewer free Wi-Fi spots (38.4%), language barrier (38.3%) and how to take or transfer public transportations (34.3%).
