Year-on-year comparison of Japanese travelers to Australia, Canada and New Zealand in 2017

Based on official statistical data for 2017, the number of Japanese travelers increased by 4.0% for Australia (reaching 434,600), by 0.5% for Canada (reaching 304,400) and by 1.3% for New Zealand (reaching 102,000) on a year-on-year basis.

The outbound travel market from Japan to the three countries continued growing in 2017, though the growth rates were lower than 2016. Japanese travelers for Australia exceeded 400,000 following 2016.

In December 2017 only, Japanese travelers increased by 0.7% for Australia (reaching 42,600), by 0.5% for Canada (reaching 16,692) and by 1.1% for New Zealand (reaching 12,944) on a year-on-year basis.
