In the Chinese market, a large increase in cruise ships contributed to the large growth of visitors in July 2016, 200,000 more than the previous three months. The growth of visitors from Hong Kong mainly resulted from extension of air network to Narita, Kansai, Takamatsu, Kagoshima, Ishigaki or Sapporo.

Visitors from Korea to Kyushu recovered well from the downturn after the Kumamoto Earthquake, boosted by restart of Seoul-Fukuoka flights and new services between Korea and Kyushu. In Taiwan, an increase in family travels in the school holiday period and an increase in cruise travelers for Okinawa boosted the market, however the monthly growth was low because of several negative factors, such as stronger yen or the airline’s strike.
