47% of inbound travelers in Japan said that clean public toilets make them have better images of the areas

TOTO, the leading sanitary ware marker of Japan, conducted an awareness survey on public toilets to inbound travelers in Japan. According to the results, 93% answered that they were more sensitive to cleanliness of public toilets than pre-pandemic. 

The ratio of respondents who want WASHLET with cleaning technology by hot water droplets in public toilets was 88%, which was higher than 55% in the last survey in 2018. The highest ratio was 96% in India and China.

The survey also shows that 47.1% answered that clean public toilets make them have better images of the areas, and 56.9% that clean toilets in a restaurant make then have better images of the restaurant.
