Japanese outbound travelers still recovered slowly to 1.2 million in March 2024

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese outbound travelers was down 36.8% to 1,219,800 in March 2024 compared to the same month 2019, though the result was about 250,000 more than the previous month. 

According to OAG, international flights departing from six major airports in Japan (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sapporo) were still down 9.0% to 19,694, and available seats down 7.4% to 4,634,153 compared to March 2019.

Haneda increased flights by 24.2% to 4,494 and available seats by 18.9% to  1,104,504, and Fukuoka also flights by 7.8% to 1,868 and available seats by 7.5% to 400,925.
