Visitors to Japan from South Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong were only 460 in June 2020

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)’s statistics for June 2020 shows that Japan received 100 from South Korea, 300 visitors from China, 50 from Taiwan and fewer than 10 from Hong Kong, totaling 460 visitors only.

As the border control related to COVID-19 countermeasures for the above four countries and regions continues, it is practically impossible for both business and leisure travelers to enter into Japan. 

Simultaneously, the above countries and regions have extended overseas travel restrictions.

According to aviation data provider OAG, international flights from the above countries and regions were just 1,876 in April 2020, 88% fewer flights than a year ago, and available seats on the flights were down 88.4% to 370,721.
