Airbnb estimates revenue to hosts in Japan reach 4.9 billion JPY in total during Rugby World Cup 2019

Airbnb announced that revenue to hosts in 12 host cities for Rugby World Cup in Japan is estimated to reach 4.9 billion JPY in total with 350,000 guests (+123% year on year) during the event period between September 20 and November 2 2019.

Airbnb supports event vacation rentals in Oita Prefecture, Kamaishi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Kobe City and Higashi-Osaka City the during Rugby World Cup period. Guests are particularly expected to increase by 233% in Kumamoto prefecture and by 179% in Oita Prefecture compared to a year ago. 

Airbnb also said that bookings by travelers from the qualified countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, England or Ireland.
