HIS reduced monthly transaction by 97% to 1,150 million JPY in July 2020

HIS, one of the Japan’s leading travel companies, reduced transaction volume by 97% year on year to 1,150 million JPY in July 2020, continuously damaged by the pandemic.

Outbound travel transaction was down 99% to 307 million JPY only, as the company suspended all of overseas tours. Inbound travel transaction was down 99.4% to 18 million JPY, affected by the ongoing travel restrictions both in Japan and in foreign countries and regions.

Domestic travel transaction was down 84.3% to 825 million JPY. Demand recovery was slightly seen in Okinawa after the government’s domestic travel demand boosting campaign ‘Go To Travel’ was launched, but business recovery was still limited overall.
