JTB launches a new sharing service for baggage delivery in Japan to match a traveler with a driver

JTB has launched a new sharing service ‘Baggage GO’ to match a traveler who wants to deliver baggage in a tourist destination with a driver who wants to take it on a system, working together with MOMOA, a startup company supporting DX in last-one-mile distribution.

JTB aims to solve the current tourism challenges, such as  over-tourism or congestion in public transportations by promoting empty-hand traveling without carrying large-sized  baggage.

JTB secures baggage delivery points in partnership with airports, stations or accommodations and builds a web system for the empty-hand travel. MOMOA is in charge of the entire distribution management system, including matching with licensed drivers.

JTB and MOMOA has started testing the service in Kanazawa City first. After studying demand, delivery time and so forth, they plan to extend the service nationwide. In the future, they will develop the service for a driver to pick baggage up at a site a user designates.
