Mitsubishi Estate and Mitsubishi Estate Hotels & Resorts enter the apartment hotel business, launching a new brand ‘WAYPOINT’ to meet long-stay needs. Placing an laundry and a kitchen in a room, WAYPOINT particularly targets international group guests.
The first ‘WAYPOINT TSUKIJI TOKYO,’ which is renovated from the existing property, will open on April 1 2026. Mitsubishi plans to open 10 WAYPOINT apartment hotels by 2030.
Amid a rapid increase in international travelers to Japan, general hotels do not have capacities enough for groups or families. Mitsubishi has judged that an apartment hotel will be demanded by international groups or families who want to stay longer.
A WAYPOINT TSUKIJI TOKYO’s room accommodates up to six guests, and multi-language speakers as staff will support guests, aiming to balance environmental friendliness with a comfortable stay.
