Narita Airport handled the first 1 million Japanese passengers in August 2025 since the pandemic ended

Narita International Airport announced that the number of Japanese passengers in August 2025 was up15% year on year to 1,050,000, exceeding 1 million a month for the first time since the pandemic ended. The number of foreign passengers was up 8% to 1.86 million, the most passengers for August. 

The airport handled 14,913 aircraft movements for international passenger flights, 9% more than a year ago, and aircraft movements for China flights particularly increased by 21% to 2,743. 

Domestic flight passengers were about 700,000, almost the same as a year ago.
