Tourism Forecast Platform started full-time operation on November 1 2016 to provide local governments, local tourism associations or tourism business organizations with marketing data, which visualize lodging bookings and results of about 70 million nights nationwide by the smallest local government.

The platform, for instance, provides tourist demography by day or region, lodging by nationality or cross analysis. Lodging forecasts half a year ahead can be provided based on the past booking data. Also, a variety of tourism-related contents, such as about 470,000 tourist spots and restaurants, local events or blooming times, are offered.

The platform is operated by Tourism Forecast Platform Promotion Committee, which is part of Japan Travel and Tourism Association. The Committee also serves individual consultations for data analysis to make a local tourism strategy.
