JR Tokai announced that the train operator will introduce luxury private rooms with more luxury services and equipments than the first-class Green Car cabin in Tokaido Shinkansen in 2026. The privacy and security-secured room offers a luxury reclining seat with exclusive Wi-Fi connection and manageable lighting and air conditioning systems.
JR Tokai supposes executive business travel passengers or privacy-seeking passengers as main users for the private rooms.
Two rooms will be available on the N700S train first. Details, including price, in-train service or operation segment, will be announced later.
