Japan’s Nippon Travel Agency enters a new phase for commercial space travel, beginning accepting applications in FY2026

Nippon Travel Agency (NTA), a major Japanese travel agency of Japan, and Innovative Space Carrier (ISC) signed a new business partnership contract to commercialize a space travel business. They have jointly studied ‘space travel for everyone’ since September 2024.

Based on the new contract, they are building a system for selling, operation and experience design for commercialization and studying extension of space travel from ‘special experience’ to ‘experiences connecting leaning, community and society.’

NTA will define service contents of space travel including customer experiences, product development and selling approaches. ISC is playing roles of advising and supervising the project and working together with NTA to build a framework for social adaptation.

In addition, they will jointly develop a educational program to cultivate space human resources.

NTA plans to accept space travel applications for SPACE Tour 2.0 for the next generation point-to-point high-speed transportation mode on the earth and SPACR Tour 3.0 for staying on an orbit within FY2026 starting April 1 2026.
