The ratio of ‘I want to go to Osaka EXPO’ is rising rapidly, and the satisfaction rate among visitors is 73%

The Mitsubishi Research Institute (MRI)’s survey on Osaka Kansai EXPO 2025 finds that the ratio of answers that ‘I want to go to the EXPO’ as of the middle of May was 33.7%, 9.7 higher points than the last survey in October 2024. The ratios rose from 36.3% to 51.7% in Kansai area, from 22.3% to 32.2% in Tokyo Metropolitan area and from 28% to 35% in Nagoya area. 

By generation, 41.8% of 20 to 29 years old answered that they want to go to the EXPO.

Asked challenges against visiting the EXPO to people who do not visit the EXPO yet, the most answers were found in ‘anxiety about overcrowding and long queue (37%),) followed by ‘high ticket cost (30.9%),’ ‘no information about how much money is needed in the venue (24.7%) and ‘difficulties to book hotels or transportations (21.5%).’

The satisfaction rate among visitors was 73%, and the ratio of ‘very satisfied’ was 26.4%. By region, the ratios of ‘very satisfied’ were 30.3% among visitors from Kansai area, 21% from Tokyo area and 20% from Nagoya area. By generation, the satisfaction rate was higher among young generation, like 81.9% among 20 to 29 years old visitors. 

Regarding influences given by the EXPO to the future society, the most answers were found in ‘creation of innovative technologies or new products and services’ with 40%, followed by ‘higher attentions to foreign countries and regions’ with 26.6% and ‘creation of new partnerships among countries or companies’ with 25.2%,
