China’s UnionPay issues an exclusive card for travelers to Japan, discounting 10% in department stores in Kansai area

UnionPay, the Chinese digital wallet, has started issuing an exclusive card for travelers to Kansai area in Japan, offering a campaign that a user is benefited with 10% discount in Kintetsu Department Store and 5% discount in Hankyu-Hanshin Department Store. 

The card is issued to UnionPay Diamond Card and Platinum Card members at a salon of Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Department Store on site. It will be valid by December 31 2026 to stimulate Chinese travers’ shopping minds.

UnionPay is usable in 183 countries and regions as of July 2025.
