Fujikyu, a Japanese railway company, and Embassy of India in Japan co-hosted ‘Mt.Fuji Yoga Festival’ at Fujikyu’s managing ‘Hotel Mt. Fuji’ on May 23 2026, based on the Embassy’s idea to host the authentic yoga event at the foot of UNESCO World Heritage Mt.Fuji before ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21.

Kalpana, a yoga master for the Embassy, provided an authentic yoga program in the event, which combined with onsen, sauna or waking in the nature the hotel offered as wellness experiences.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation in September 2026, Fujikyu puts forward its idea of “Making Hotel Mt.Fuji a mecca of wellness’ as one of the new-valued experiences using local assets.

In the future, in addition to regular yoga events, Fujikyu is also considering expanding into wellness programs that combine accommodation and meals, retreats with instructors from Japan and abroad, stress management training for companies, and long-term stay programs for inbound tourists.

Hotel Mt.Fuji is scheduled to be rebranded as part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' "Vignette Collection" after a major renovation.
