Fujikyu group, a private railway company in Japan, has begun developing transportation infrastructures in Mt.Fuji and Five Fuji Lakes area to make the area a world standard luxury resort.
Fujikyu signed a business partnership agreement with PDS, a hotel and restaurant operator, to upgrade the existing Fujikyu assets around Lake Yamanaka to a luxury resort and to develop a new resort using unused lands in Mt. Fuji area. By developing global standard experience and high value facilities, they aim to attract international luxury travelers.
In partnership with Times Mobility, Fujikyu will enrich a car-sharing service in the name of ‘Fujikyu Car Share’ along the Fujikyu line to provide more convenient accesses from railway stations or highway bus stops to tourist spots. The effort is expected to encourage travelers to tour around Mt. Fuji area and also to reduce burdens on environment.
