Japan Tourism Agency designates 46 shopping tour courses nationwide for international visitors

Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) has designated 46 shopping tour courses nationwide for international visitors to meet their needs for shopping in local regions. JTA expects that the designated tour courses will be opportunities for international visitors to visit places to purchase local specialties and also to learn local tourism attractions, which may result in expansion of travel spending in local regions.

Okinawa Prefecture has four tour courses, such as a tour for cruise travelers or an itinerary of six days and five nights for entire Okinawa. Hokuriku/Shinetsu region has nine tour courses, which are the most courses by region.

The designated tour courses are introduced on the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)’s website, and flyers will be delivered to international visitors by hotels, ryokans and tourist information nationwide.
