Japan Tourism Agency launches a new registration system for private accommodation ‘Minpaku’

Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) has revealed renovation of the current management system and launch of a new management system for private accommodation Minpaku to operate more properly the Private Accommodation Law, which was enforced in June this year. For that, JTA has requested a budget of 209 million JPY for FY2019. 

For identification of illegal properties on a new system, JTA has a plan to find illegal listings by matching listing information collected from booking platforms with registration information. JTA expects to demonstrate a new system in several local governments in 2020 after forming basic functions in FY2019. 

At the same time, JTA will renovate the current system to improve the functions.
