Japan Tourism Agency Will Launch the “Marathon Japan” Aimed to Attract Foreign Visitors to Sport Events

Japan Tourism Agency will launch the “Marathon Japan” project- presentations, exchange events and business meetings to be held overseas to promote marathon races scheduled in Japan. The project is aimed to utilize various marathon races thorough out Japan as resources for sport tourism, and intend to attract foreign visitors. The inaugural event will be held in Korea, for this year is designated as “Japan-South Korea Local Tourism Exchange Year.”

The event will be held on July 11, 2013, and 10 marathon races from Japan will participate. Also, Yuko Arimori- the silver medalist in the women's marathon race at the Barcelona Olympics; a sport tourism meister, and Hwang Young Cho- the gold medalist in the marathon race at the Barcelona Olympics will appear in a talk show.
