Odakyu Group, a Japanese private railway group, will extend the credit card touch payment system to Odakyu Line from Shinjuku, Hakone Tozan Railway, Hokone Tozan Cablecar, Hakone Tozan Bus, Oyama Cablecar and part of Tokai Bus and Odakyu Highway Bus in order to improve passenger experiences for international visitors to Japan.
The group has already introduced the system for Enoshima Electric Railway, Hakone Ropeway and Hakone Sightseeing Cruise, which are popular among International visitors.
The system accepts Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and Union Pay.
Also, Odakyu Group and Sumitomo Mitsu Card are promoting the cashless solution ‘stera transit’ to attract tourists along the group’s lines.
