ANA renews the business class for international mid-sized aircraft for the first time in a decade, reestablishing the private space

ANA announced that it will introduce new business class seat ‘THE Room FX’ on Boing 787-9 for long-range international flights after 2026 for the first time in a decade. The new seats are developed together with Safran Seats and Acumen Design Associate to provide same passenger experiences as ‘THE Room’ for Boeing 777-300ER.

The space is reconfigured with thinner privacy door and walls, curved lines in the backrest area and an alternating front and rear facing seat arrangement. This design optimizes the Boeing 787's cabin, creating a spatial experience comparable to a larger aircraft and achieving a world-class comfort level.

The new seat features a pre-reclining function that transforms the backrest into a sofa-like configuration, allowing passengers to relax in a variety of positions similar to lounging on a living room sofa.

In addition, thinner privacy cabin doors, backrests and seat-to-seat dividers contribute to a significant reduction in seat weight.
