Rugby World Cup 2019 is expected to contribute to an economic impact of about 420 million JPY in Japan

EY Japan has forecasted that Japan may have  an economic impact of about 420 billion JPY from Rugby World Cup 2019.

The estimation consists of about 190 billion JPY from direct effects including infrastructure development, event operation and consumption by audiences, about 140 billion JPY from indirect effects including productions by supply-chains and about 90 billion JPY from spillover effects including productions through an increase in employment. The big sporting event may contribute to creation of about 39,000 jobs, according to EY Japan.
