Shizuoka Prefecture started pre-registration and pre-payment on ‘Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI’ app for Mt. Fuji climbers who enter the gates in Shizuoka (Fujinomiya, Gotemba and Subashiri routes) on May 9 2025. It is one of countermeasures against over-tourism in Mt. Fuji.
A climber selects a climbing day and pays 4,000 yen as climbing fee on the app through a mobile ticketing system ‘QUICK TRIP’ and then learns rules or manners in climbing Mt. Fuji on the app before climbing.
On the selected climbing day, a climber can enter a Mt. Fuji gate after showing a two-dimensional code on the app for approval at a gate. A map and an emergency information function is available on the app, too.
There is no limitation in the number of climbers a day. A Booking of a mountain hut must be confirmed for a climber who enter after 2 p.m.
