Google announced top 10 destinations searched with a keyword of travel in a month from May 15 to June 15 2016, which may represent popular summer vacation destinations.
In Japan, the top was Okinawa, followed by Kyushu and Hokkaido. Kumamoto and Oita were also in the top 10 maybe because searchers seem to plan travels in Kyushu to support rehabilitation from the Kumamoto Earthquake.

The most searched overseas destination was Hawaii, followed by Korea and Taiwan. Italy was ranked 7th, only one European destination in the top 10.
