Trip.com will begin selling Shinkansen tickets in partnership with JR Tokai, JR East, JR West and JR Kyushu, offering purchase opportunities to international visitors to Japan in their respective languages.
A user will be able to purchase Shinkansen tickets online on Trip.com by specifying the departure and arrival stations, the date of travel, and selecting the train and seat type (unreserved seat, reserved seat, or first class seat).
A user can pass through a gate with an issued QR-code or has to issue a ticket on a ticketing machine at a station, depending on sorts of tickets.
