Japanese overseas travelers up 13% to 1.65 millions in October 2018, totaling 15.65 million this year

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese overseas travelers was up 12.8% year on year, reaching 1,646,200 in October 2018 (preliminary figures). The growth rate of 10% or higher was seen for the first time in the past 19 months since March 2017. The total for the first ten months of 2018 reached 15,651,100 (+5.2%), about 780,000 more travelers than a year earlier.
