Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) revealed that Chineses viewers of the virtual tours connected to cross-border e-commerce on the Alibaba platform reached 1.35 million in total.
The live programs for eight regional blocks in Japan were delivered in the period between September 2021 and March 2022. The most viewers were found in a Tohoku and Niigata program on October 13 2021, collecting about 430,000 viewers.
Popular e-commerce goods were ‘sake,’ ‘cosmetics’ and ‘snacks,’ according to JNTO.
In addition to the virtual tours, four Chinese influencers living in Japan posted local attractions in Japan on Weibo, and the total number of views reached 36 million.
