JTB and baggage storage service provider Bounce launched the system linkage between JTB baggage delivery platform ‘LUGGAGE EXPRESS’ and the Bounce app.
Through this partnership, they will provide "same-day long-distance delivery" services, such as between Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka, using the Tokaido Shinkansen, as well as "same-day airport delivery" services transporting packages from Tokyo's 23 wards to Haneda and Narita airports.
JTB will handle the actual delivery operations (utilizing the Shinkansen and other modes) and provide the coordination system, while Bounce will manage in-app booking, multilingual support, and payment processing.
They aim to meet the growing demand for luggage delivery services among international tourists visiting Japan and to alleviate the workload on front-desk staff at accommodations.
As travelers will be able to complete delivery arrangements and payments entirely within the Bounce app, accommodations only need to hand over the luggage to the delivery personnel, resulting in a significant reduction in operational workload.
The service will be offers in September 2026 for accommodations in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka areas first.
