
LOTTE Holdings, a Japan-Korea conglomerate, launched ‘LOTTE HOTEL JAPAN’ together with Hotel LOTTE of Korea LOTTE Group in order to expand the hotel business in Japan. Hotel LOTTE with a 50 years’ history operates 39 hotels in seven countries.
“This is part of our ‘ONE LOTTE’ strategy in Japan and Korea,” Genichi Tamatsuka, LOTTE Holdings CEO, said at a news conference. “Focusing on the business space Japan and Korea can work together, we are driving the hotel business as the growth business. We should have done earlier.”

LOTTE HOTEL JAPAN will enhance partnerships with hotel owners as a management contractor as well as operation of the existing two LOTTE hotels in Japan. The goal is to extend the business scale to 4,500 rooms of 20 hotels in the next decade. Fukui Tomoya, LOTTE HOTEL JAPAN President, revealed that it has a plan to open new flagship hotels in cities with high powers of city and tourism, such as Tokyo, Osaka or Okinawa, and he picked Sapporo, Kanazawa or Fukuoka as candidate cities.

LOTTE Group operates 14,135 rooms of 39 hotels in seven countries, including LOTTE City Hotel Kinshicho in Tokyo and LOTTE Arai Resort in Niigata.
“As a global company, we will develop a portfolio to meet customers’ needs,’ Jung Hosuck, Hotel LOTTE CEO, said. “In Japan, a small luxury hotels (from 50,000 yen to 100,000 yen a night) will be launched as a new brand.”
