Japan Tourism Agency revealed that the number of applicants to Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System(ERFS), which is a registration system for new foreigner entries into Japan, totaled 12,291 only as of July 28 2022, slightly increasing 11,474 a week ago.
Registered applicants are 8,072 in the period between August 1 and 31, 2,605 more applicants than a week ago, and are 2,833 after September, increasing from 1,676 a week ago.
Top source market is South Korea with 5,244 applicants, followed by US with 1,344, Thailand with 1,217, France with 535 and Malaysia with 424.
