The Japanese leading telecommunication company starts providing free Wi-Fi service for foreign travelers

Softbank, the Leading telecommunication company of Japan, started providing ‘FREE Wi-Fi PASSPORT’ service for foreign visitors to Japan on July 1 2015. The new service, available with English, Korean and Chinese (traditional and simple), can be used on about 400,000 Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide without downloading app.

This is the first system a user can complete identification and registration by connecting to an exclusive telephone number to the service. SSID in service is “.FREE_Wi-Fi_PASSPORT.”
