Daiwa House, a Japan’s leading house maker, launches a new brand for longterm travelers, working together with Airbnb Japan

Daiwa House Industry, a Japan’s leading house maker, signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Airbnb Japan to create new values for diversified lifestyles and travelers’ needs. As the first partnership project, a new brand ‘Sumu powered by Airbnb Partners’ will open in Asakusa, Tokyo in the autumn 2026. 

The new generation apartment will be a place for a longterm guest to stay like staying home. Daiwa plans to build two apartments of the brand in Tokyo during the agreement term from January 6 2025 to January 6 2027. 

Targeting inbound travelers to Japan, Daiwa and Airbnb Japan will develop living spaces and services for diversified living and traveling styles and also seek possibilities to reuse  unused properties or cultural assets in cooperation with local governments or companies.
