International Airbnb guests in Japan reached 3.7 million in 2016

Airbnb announced that the vacation rental platform earned a profit of 406.1 billion yen in 2016, 1.7 times more than 2015. An economic impact amounted to 920 billion yen in 2016, 1.8 times more than 520.7 billion yen in 2015.

Rental nights by standard hosts were 89 a year, and annual revenue amounted to 1,004,830 yen. Out of 24 million international travelers to Japan, 3.7 million travelers stayed in Airbnb listings.
