Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese international travelers in May 2026 was up 4.7% year on year to 1,127,400, which showed the year-on-year growths for three consecutive months
Compared to May 2019 (1.44 million travelers), the number was still down 21.6%.
