Japanese overseas travelers up 3% to 1.44 million in May 2019, exceeding 8 million in total

Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) reported that the number of Japanese overseas travelers in May 2019 was up 3.9% year on year to 1,438,000, which were record-high for May, despite a negative rebound from 22.8% up in the last month’s Golden Week period

The total for the first five months of 2019 reached record-high 8,021,000, 9.0% more than a year ago, approaching to the goal of 20 million a year.
