JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo opened in TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY on October 2 2025 as the second JW Marriott brand in Japan. To celebrate the opening, Marriott International’s executives visited Japan on October 23.

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is the 136th JW Marriott brand in the world. Marriott values the location of Takanawa with convenient accesses ti Haneda Airport and Shinagawa Station for Shinkansen.
“This is an important milestone for us. We commit to growth in a way fitted with local,” Marriott International CEO Anthony Capuano said, “Japan is one of the most energetic markers in the luxury travel market. Japan is a cornerstone of our growth.”
JW Marriott said that they eye Fukuoka, Okinawa, Nikko or Nara in addition to major cities of Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto.

Yuriko Koike, Tokyo Governor, said at the opening ceremony, “I believe that opening of JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo helps Tokyo raise global presence.”
JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is envisioned as a timeless sanctuary of balance and mindfulness. All of 200 rooms from 23rd to 28th floor are designed inspired by Zen philosophy and the natural beauty of Takanawa, On the 30th floor, the reception area greets guests with sweeping views inspired by the historical Tokyo Bay horizon and the scenic Gotenyama Hill.
On the 28th and 29th floors, JW Ball Room with start-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and six meeting rooms, totaling 1,140 square meters, are available. On the 28th floor, an outdoor pool and ‘SPA by JW’ are offered.
A variety of dining experiences are also offered at Japanese cuisine ‘Kako,’ kappo restaurant ‘Saki,’ Modern Mediterranean restaurant ‘Sefino,’ croissant bar ‘Le Cres,’ JW Bar and KW Lounge.
