Total overseas travel sales amount of 44 Japanese travel companies increased by 8% in June 2025

Japan Tourism Agency announced that sales of 44 major travel companies in June 2025 were up 5.9% year on year to 318 billion yen in total. The total consisted of 189.9 billion yen for domestic travel (up 4.7%), 112.1 billion yen for overseas travel (up 8.2%) and 16.2 billion yen for inbound travel (up 4.4%).

Sales in package tours in total were up 9.1% year on year to 97 billion yen with 1.73 million customers (down 2.2%). Out of the total, sales in domestic package tours were up 4.4% to 67.2 billion yen with 1,657,151customers (down 2.8%), and sales in overseas package tours up 21.8% to 29.6 billion yen with 65,283 customers (up 10%). 

The top was JTB Group with sales of 102 billion JPY (down 0.9%), followed by Hankyu with 32.8 billion JPY (up 14.8%), KNT-CT Holdings with 31.7 billion JPY (up 8.8%), NTA with 28.9 billion JPY (up 6%) and HIS with 26.2 billion JPY (up 6.6%).
