Travel surplus of Japan's international trade balance expands to 129.5 billion JPY in July 2015

Ministry of Finance announced that travel balance of Japan's international trade balance  resulted in a surplus of 129.5 billion JPY in July 2015, which was the biggest surplus ever for July and the second biggest single month surplus following 133.4 billion JPY in April 2015. Travel surplus has continued for ten months in a row since October 2014.

Foreign visitors to Japan were up 51% to single month record-high 1,918,400 in July 2015, while Japanese overseas travelers were down 6.7% to 1,320,000, according to Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).

Current balance reached a surplus of 1,808.6 billion JPY in total in July 2015, which considerably expanded from a surplus of 403.6 billion JPY, marking surpluses for 13 months in a row since July 2014. Service balance including travel balance resulted in a loss of 183.6 billion JPY, which were 270.2 billion JPY less than a year earlier.
