Rakuten Travel, a major Japanese OTA, added a new accommodation booking function in ‘Rakuten AI,’ by which a user can be supported seamlessly from suggestion to booking.
When you tell the AI your desired conditions, such as the dates of stay, the amenities you want at the facility, and what you prioritize, the AI will present several options. Based on these, you can select the most suitable accommodation and plan and easily complete the reservation with a click of the reservation button.
By logging in with a Rakuten ID beforehand, you can check the prices reflecting your expected loyalty points and applicable discounts. You don’t need to enter your name, contact information, or credit card payment details during the reservation process.
The AI responds your requests based on your booking history, and if you cannot find the same plan as before or an available plan, the AI suggests you alternative plans in a similar price range or room types.
Rakuten Travel will update Rakuten AI for further personalization.
