JTB and LEAPS, a blockchain service provider, will launch ‘anyBOUND,’ a new travel website for global luxury travelers, in this year’s autumn to realize unprecedented travel proposals and purchase and payment experiences using the blockchain technology.
They intend to develop travel itineraries based on gathering and leaving in a destination, regardless of domestic, overseas or inbound travel. They will develop a borderless operation scheme that sells custom-made transport and accommodation originating and arriving anywhere in the world.
Also, they will build a token economy sales scheme using blockchain technology. We will also collaborate with Pacific Meta, a Web3 consulting company and consider introducing new methods such as payments with cryptocurrencies (ETH, USDC) and selling the right to apply for travel or ownership of physical objects as NFTs in addition to traditional payments such as credit cards.
Through the new site, they will create a flow of people originating and arriving worldwide, and in Japan they plan to collaborate with local governments, DMOs, companies, etc., mainly to strengthen the inbound travel market.
